The Best Places to Pop the Question in the UK!

Are you planning a proposal? There’s no need to blow your budget on a trip abroad when we have so many beautiful & romantic destinations right here in the UK! Forget the clichés of Paris or Rome & pop the question during a romantic staycation that you’ll both remember forever. Here are a few of our top destinations:

The Lake District

England’s largest National Park attracts millions of tourists every year, for a whole variety of reasons. Of course, there are the lakes, but you’ll also find majestic mountains & even a sandy coastline. If you’re the kind of couple who likes to get your adrenaline pumping then you’ll be in heaven here, with everything from wakeboarding to mountain biking available. If you’d prefer to just chill out, why not take a cruise and admire the scenery while you sit back and relax? Whether you do it at the top of Scafell Pike, in the middle of Lake Windermere or on the balcony of your hotel room, the Lake District can certainly provide a suitably breathtaking backdrop for your proposal.

Pembrokeshire

The Pembrokeshire Coast Path spans 186 miles of varied coastal scenery. There are rugged clifftops & hidden coves to discover, and award-winning golden beaches to relax on. There are over 200 circular walks you can set out on, so plan a route, pack a picnic & pop the question with a stunning coastal backdrop! If the weather isn’t on your side, then there are plenty of days out which are suitably romantic! Pembrokeshire has many majestic castles & ancient sites, each with their own rich history. If you get caught in the rain it’s not the end of the world, enjoy a ‘cwtch’ by the fire & you’ll have warmed up in no time!

The Scottish Highlands

With a reputation across the world for their mystery & romance, the Scottish Highlands are somehow even more magnificent in person! The striking, rugged landscape brings with it a vast array of wildlife. Now you may not spot the Loch Ness monster, but if you’re lucky you could see anything from Scottish wildcats & red deer to grey seals or bottlenose dolphins! For animal lovers, there is surely nothing better than seeing animals in their natural habitat & it’s something you’ll never forget. When the sun sets, you may be surprised at how much there still is to see! Scotland has some of Europe’s largest areas of Dark Skies, so on a clear night you could get down on one knee with distant planets, galaxies & even shooting stars as company.

The Grove Guesthouse in Kilrush offers comfortable guest accommodation in an ideal location for exploring beautiful County Clare and discovering the Wild Atlantic Way.

There are 8 guest rooms available at The Grove Guest House. All of the rooms have Wi-Fi internet access and 7 of the rooms are en suite.

A television lounge is available for you to relax in and read a book, or just enjoy a lazy evening in front of the TV.

Offshore resides a large pod of Bottlenose dolphins that are resident year round in the estuary. Ferries to the island and dolphin tours are available year round, weather permitting. 10 kilometres (7 miles) from Kilrush is the seaside resort of Kilkee, a sandy horseshoe bay on the Atlantic coast. Sailing is also very popular. Classes and instructions on boating are available at the town marina. The Western Yacht Club has in the last decade been rejuvenated, being one of the oldest yacht clubs in the world.
