This charming 18th Century Castle Manor Style Hotel is centrally located in the heart of the Irish Midlands situated off the N4 motorway, 90 minutes drive from Dublin Airport, 50 minutes from Knock Airport and just over one hours drive from Galway, Westport and Sligo. County Roscommon has an abundance of local attractions including the historical houses of King House Boyle, Clonalis House and Strokestown Park House are all located in close proximity. The county of Roscommon, home of the ancient High Kings of Connacht, is steeped in history and rich in folklore, it is also in the heart of Ireland where traditional Irish hospitality can be experienced at it's best. The Abbey Hotel is a family run business, now run by the fifth generation of the Grealy Family. It is within a 2 hour drive of most of Ireland's top tourist hotspots.

The accommodation at the Abbey Hotel Roscommon, comprising of 50 bedroom, where old world meets new. Some rooms reflect the charming authentic old world character of the old manor house whilst the new wing has a more modern contemporary feel. The bedrooms have been individually designed and decorated to an exceptional standard, with the recent refurbishment of the hotel ballroom and lobby area now giving a classically luxurious edge to this old manor style 18th Century property.

This family run hotel has been in the Grealy family since 1963 and has built up a fine reputation for exceptional cuisine and award-winning customer service. Alongside the 50 deluxe bedrooms guests can enjoy a state of the art 20 m heated pool and leisure facilities which include a sauna, steam room, plunge pool and Jacuzzi. There is also a treatment room on site but all treatments must be made by prior appointment with our Reservations Manager. Roscommon Cinema/Playzone and Roscommon Golf Club are less than a 3 minute drive and there are daily bus and train links to all major towns and cities. For customer convenience the train station is located directly across the road from the hotel with daily trains serving Dublin and Westport.

Despite this, the present structure retains the architectural lines of a medieval castle. The building forms three sides of a quadrangle, with three of the four original round towers intact.
