Arreton Manor, Newport, Isle of Wight
Arreton Manor in Newport offers luxurious accommodation in a historic property. Based on the Isle of Wight, this is the ideal place for an idyllic holiday.
The wonderful manor is brimming with rich history. It was originally recorded in 872 AD in Alfred The Great's Will. 8 British monarchs were known to have owned it, including Edward The Confessor, William The Conqueror and Henry VIII. Charles I hid on the first floor and James I reviewed his troops on the front lawns. This is truly a unique place to stay.
This private home now offers a range of lavish bedrooms to choose from: in the main house and a separate suite which boasts its own entrance. Each room is individually designed and offers a comfortable and relaxing stay. All the rooms come with a king-size and flat-screen TV.
The Nook: A wonderful hideaway comes with A-line ceilings with wooden oak beams and an open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room. The bedroom has use of a separate shower room.
Culpeper Suite: This master suite offers an opulent experience. This is the largest suite and enjoys original Jacobean oak beams and boasts views across the Ventor Hills. The en suite bathroom has a shower and spacious bathtub. A walk-in wardrobe and a second dressing area completes a sumptuous experience.
The Adrintone Bedchamber: Nestled on the first floor, the spacious and airy room has a cosy feel. It does not have a shower but it does have a handheld shower for the bathtub.
You can savour a delicious breakfast in the 430-year-old oak-panelled courtroom, maybe followed by a wander through the gorgeous grounds, including 7 ornamental gardens. One of the trees is said to have been planted by Queen Victoria.
