Windy Harbour Farm Hotel is situated in a rural location just outside Glossop, in Derbyshire. There are views over the Woodhead and Longdendale and we are in an unrivalled position on the edge of the Peak District National Park. We are only 35 minutes from Manchester and 40 minutes from Manchester Airport.

The hotel is a family-owned business offering a warm welcome, home-cooked food and a well-stocked bar often serving speciality cask ales. Our twin and double rooms all en suite and each of them has been individually furnished. 

The restaurant is a lovely room overlooking the garden and views of the Woodhead valley beyond. Evening meals and lunches are served in the restaurant and afternoon teas in the restaurant or in the garden in the spring and summer. We also have an elegant bar which serves a range of drinks to choose from.

There are local walks and cycle ways accessible from the area, including the Trans Pennine Trail, The Pennine Way, Pennine Bridleway and the Londendale trail. We are just minutes away from these routes and offer a free pick up and drop off service for walkers. The hotel also provides packed lunches.

Rutland Arms Hotel is situated in stunning scenery amidst The Peak District National Park. Built for the Duke of Rutland in 1804, today the building exudes a unique character with a warm, friendly atmosphere and the traditional charm reminiscent of that era.

The hotel and stable building dates back to 1804 and was built by the Duke of Rutland on the site of the old White Horse Inn. Each of the 35 rooms here at the Rutland Hotel are styled to ensure that the history of the buildings has been retained and many have enviable views of the town and surrounding landscape.

The Square is our award winning restaurant. The Square at the Rutland Arms Hotel is proud to be able to offer a huge variety of locally sourced fresh produce on their menus. By supporting local businesses such as growers, suppliers and tradespeople we are confident that you will find our food incredibly fresh and the taste will be absolutely sublime. The AA Rosette standard restaurant menus have won a variety of awards and are recognised as being excellent examples of culinary excellence in the Peak District. They are available throughout the day and offer a choice of local produce so you can sample the best that the region has to offer.

We now have the wonderful Juniper Pizza and Gin Bar, one’s of Bakewell’s hidden gems. The bar offers overs 60 stunning gins and we provide a great pizza selection.

Chatsworth House is a must visit destination, being situated just three and a half miles from Bakewell. Chatsworth is currently the seat of the Dukes of Devonshire; in fact, the house itself has been the home of the Cavendish family since 1549. Chatsworth House is famous (amongst many other things) for its beautiful garden that is carefully sculptured and maintained three hundred and sixty five days a year. Chatsworth is the home of a number of unique collections of paintings, drawings, sculpture (particularly neoclassical pieces), furniture and books. It has been voted the countries favourite country house many times over.

The restaurant is a lovely room overlooking the garden and views to the Woodhead valley beyond. Relax in one of our lounges with a pre-dinner drink before dining. Evening dining is available Tuesday to Saturday. We also serve Sunday Lunches. 
Booking is essential as our restaurant may be booked for a private function. Evening meals and lunches are served in the restaurant and afternoon teas in the restaurant or in the garden in the spring and summer.

Windy Harbour Farm Hotel has a licence to hold civil weddings ceremonies up to 120.

The hotel has just past its centenary year, our beautiful Edwardian hotel was constructed in the Arts and Crafts period, The building is set in its own mature, well maintained gardens, only a five minute walk away from Buxton’s Town Centre, with its many attractions including the Opera House and the Pavilion Gardens.

The hotel is family run, currently in its third generation. We combine the traditional values of a welcoming atmosphere and good, fresh food, locally sourced where possible, with informal, yet attentive service.

Buxton is also the home to the famous Festival and to Buxton Spa water which can be sampled in the town’s Pump Room. A major attraction to the west of the town is Pooles Cavern, a natural limestone cave once inhabited by primitive man.
