5 new things to try in 2019! www.hotelsavailable.co.uk

http://www.hotelsavailable.co.uk/.

5 new things to try!

We all know that the New Year brings a whole load of new New Year’s Resolutions. We thought that we could help you make these wishes a reality with some new things for you to try in 2019.

1. Becoming more active:
One of the most common New Year’s Resolutions is to become more fit and try to lose those extra pounds we might have put on at Christmas. Without restricting yourself to a gym, the nicest way to make use of those brand-new trainers you got for Christmas, would be to explore many of the UK’s fantastic walking trails.

Hadrian’s Wall stretches 84 miles from Tyneside to Bowness-on-Solway, Cumbria. While it may be a little difficult to try and walk the entire thing, there are fantastic treks to take part in where you can discover the fascinating history of the wall.

Another fantastic walking trail is the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. Explore unspoiled fishing villages and picturesque coves whilst witnessing stunning panoramic views.

2. Becoming more cultured:
UK and Ireland are home to some fantastic galleries. Whether they're local to villages, showcasing local talent, or bigger, showing talent from all over the world, there is loads of art to discover in places that you might not have thought of.

The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford is one of the oldest public museums in the whole world. It is where Oxford University features its wide range of international art covering hundreds of years.

A more recent arrival to the gallery world is The Hepworth Wakefield in Wakefield. The gallery shows art from the city as well as some exclusive pieces from Barbara Hepworth, who the gallery is named after.

3. Discovering new music and theatre:
There is now so much new music and theatre that is hard to keep track of them sometimes. Why not discover some unique bands and shows for yourself by exploring some smaller venues?

The King Tuts Wah Wah Hut, Glasgow, frequently houses some extraordinary talent. It became known as the place where Oasis were signed and continues to stand strong in showcasing excellent talent.

London is home to the ground-breaking new theatre with spectacular talent. The Yard Theatre is just one of many fantastic spaces that perform contemporary writing in modern contexts.

4. Getting closer to nature
The world is a fascinating place that some people take for granted. Luckily, there are places where you can easily discover more about our wonderful planet.

The Eden Project in Cornwall is a fantastic way to spend a day out with the family. Explore the largest indoor rainforest in the world, whilst discovering a range of climates and environments.

The Cambridge University Botanic Garden houses nine National Plant Collections with plants from all over the world on show in the 40-acre gardens.

5. Reliving history:
The UK and Ireland have a fascinating history. You can explore the ruins of some of the most remarkable places and relive the history that happened there.

The grave of King Arthur was discovered in Glastonbury Abbey, Somerset, and it is also a stunning place to explore history spanning back to the seventh century.

Whitby Abbey in North Yorkshire was the inspiration for ‘Dracula’ by Bram Stoker. Why not explore the haunting remains whilst also enjoying panoramic views of Whitby.
